During the drive, 100 saplings were planted across the campus, each symbolising gratitude, love, and responsibility. The session was led by renowned clinical psychology expert Dr. Shubhangi Bhagawati, who guided the students through important aspects of mental health. She emphasised the value of early recognition of challenges, effective techniques to manage academic pressure and the role of self-awareness in making better life decisions. Through guided exercises, students learned practical ways to improve focus, calm their minds and handle stress more effectively.

By integrating mental wellness into the larger dialogue of youth empowerment, this initiative highlights the importance of nurturing not just academic growth but also emotional strength. For the youth of Assam, programs like these pave the way for a healthier, more confident and resilient generation ready to meet the challenges of the future.

This Friendship Day, our workplace came alive with laughter, colors and the sweet spirit of camaraderie as we celebrated Desk Buddies Day. From the morning itself, desks turned into little hubs of joy, snacks were passed around, colorful cards were exchanged and friendship bands found their way onto wrists. The air was filled with cheerful chatter and the rustle of candy wrappers, reminding everyone that sometimes the smallest gestures bring the biggest smiles.

What made the day truly special was the reminder that friendship isn’t just outside office walls, it blooms right at our desks. Whether it’s sharing a quick snack during a busy day, lending a helping hand in a project or simply being there to listen, our desk buddies make every challenge lighter and every day brighter. After all, the best support often isn’t far away, it’s just a desk away.

At Cairn, we recognise that the preservation of nature is not optional, it’s essential. True to our sustainability-first vision, we marked the day by deepening our commitment to environmental stewardship. From integrating green technologies to empowering local communities with nature-positive initiatives, Cairn continues to place ecological responsibility at the heart of our operations, ensuring that progress goes hand in hand with the planet’s well-being.

Our journey toward sustainability is already showing tangible results. We are on track to plant 2 million native trees by 2030, with 792,000 already rooted achieving nearly 40% of our overall target, including crucial mangrove ecosystems. This year, 45000 saplings were planted during Vanmahotsav, with 3,500 more scheduled in the coming months. Endangered species conservation is also a priority with ongoing efforts for the Fishing Cat, Smooth Coated Otter, and Indian Spiny-Tailed Lizard, and quarterly awareness sessions conducted in nearby villages. Indigenous plant species like Guggal (1,500 saplings targeted, 150 planted) and Khejari (75,000 targeted, over 24,660 already planted) further reflect our deep commitment to local biodiversity. We’ve also mapped IUCN Red List species across our sites to better understand and address their endangerment status.

Conservation doesn’t end in the field, it starts with everyday choices. Through the 6R mantra, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink, Refuse and Repair, we encourage mindful living. From repurposing packaging and repairing clothes to learning about native flora and fauna or simply turning your daily walk into a clean-up drive, small steps can drive big change. As we reflect on this day, Cairn remains steadfast in its vision of a greener tomorrow, championing both ecological balance and community engagement in every conservation effort.

On World Youth Skills Day, CEC trainees took centre stage, leading initiatives in four local schools aligned with the theme “Youth Empowerment through AI and Digital Skills.” From conducting live skill demos in electronics, grooming, banking and digital literacy to hosting career talks and workshops, the trainees became mentors and role models for younger students. A standout moment was the symbolic appointment of Mr. Meer Mohamad, a former CEC trainee and now a school headmaster, as Centre Head for the Day, a powerful testament to how training can evolve into leadership.

Meanwhile, the Beautician Batch Passing Out Ceremony marked a significant milestone for rural women enrolled in Cairn’s village-based training programme. With limited access to formal centres, this two-month course was designed to reach women at their doorstep, equipping them with hands-on beauty and grooming skills. Among the success stories was Ms. Divya, who launched the first beauty parlour in her remote Barmer village, creating not only a livelihood for herself but a much-needed service in the community. The event was attended by Mr. Abhishek Singh, CEO of Learnet Skills and Ms. Shweta Singh from Cairn HR, who lauded the initiative’s tangible outcomes.

These events exemplify Cairn’s vision of building a self-reliant India through skills, opportunity, and empowerment. Whether it’s youth bringing digital tools to schools or women transforming villages with new services, Cairn’s programmes are about more than education, they are about ownership, dignity, and sustainable change.
